Krishnan is currently enjoying the positive feedback for her recently released movie, Karuppu. Co-starring Suriya in a lead role, the action drama was theatrically released on May 15. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film registered an opening of Rs 15.5 crore at the box office. Amid this, rumours of the actress' new project have surfaced online. According to media reports, Trisha was apparently being considered for a movie by a production house founded by Udhayanidhi Stalin. He is the Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The actress reportedly received a lucrative offer for a role in the film.
Trisha Krishnan offered Rs 12 crore for a film?
Multiple media reports suggest that Trisha Krishnan got an offer of Rs 12 crore to play a role in a film backed by Udhayanidhi Stalin-founded production house. However, the production house hasn't made an official announcement so far. For that matter, the actress, too, hasn't reacted to the speculation yet.
In the meantime, the actress' film,
Karuppu, is enjoying a good run at the box office. Trisha plays the role of a lawyer Preethi in action drama, while Suriya is seen as Karuppuswamy and Saravanan. Backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, the movie has earned Rs 21.93 crore at the worldwide box office.
Tamil Nadu CM Vijay approves Trisha-starrer Karuppu's 9 am shows
Before
Karuppu arrived on the big screen, it received a major support from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay. He granted a special permission for the film to have 9 am shows. The production house of Suriya and Trisha's movie wrote on X, "Special thanks to our honorable Chief Minister Thiru. Joseph Vijay for granting the special permission for the 9 AM shows of Karuppu."
Trisha Krishnan's work front
On the work front, Trisha will next be seen in director Mallidi Vassishta's film,
Vishwambhara. Co-starring Chiranjeevi, Kunal Kapoor, and Ashika Ranganath, the film was set to release in 2025 and later in Summer 2026. However, there's no confirmation on its new release date yet. Apart from this, the actress has Mohanlal-starrer
Ram lined up. She will be seen playing a pivotal role in the film, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. The movie has been collectively produced by Peacock Film Production, Abhishek Films and Passion Studios. It is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 140 crore.
