Heist spinoff prequel Berlin is returning with its season 2. Netflix dropped the teaser of the crime-thriller led by Pedro Alonso, thus confirming the brand new installment titled Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine (Berlín y la dama del armiño). Berlin is basically set prior to the events of Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), which emerged as a global phenomenon running between 2019 and 2022 on the OTT. The show first debuted on Spanish network Antena 3 in 2017 before Netflix acquired its global streaming rights. Berlin premiered after Money Heist's finale in 2023 and got renewed in 2024. Berlin Season 2 is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on 15 May 2026.

Berlin is officially returning for a second season with new thrills, bold twists, and a fresh heist adventure. It continues the timeline three years after the first season's launch in December 2023. Unlike its debut which focused on Berlin and his crew stealing jewels across Europe, Season 2 moves the action to southern Spain, primarily Seville.

Berlin Season 2 plot

The new season brings a new master heist. This time Berlin (Pedro Alonso) and his partner Damián reunite the gang to steal a famous masterpiece painting by Leonardo da Vinci called the 'Lady with an Ermine.' The catch here is that what is called the "art heist" is actually a cover. The gang's real motive is to target the Duke and Duchess of Málaga. The new season blends action with psychological tension and revenge.The plot summary reads: "Berlin and Damián bring the gang together, this time in Seville, to pull off a master heist: pretending to steal the Lady with an Ermine. Pretending? Why? Because their real target is the Duke of Málaga and his wife, a couple who think they can blackmail Berlin. What they don’t expect is that their challenge will awaken Berlin’s darkest side- and his thirst for revenge."

Berlin Season 2 cast

The cast of the Spanish drama includes several returning actors, apart from some new faces. All central cast members from Season 1 are back. These include Pedro Alonso (Berlin aka Andrés de Fonollosa), Michelle Jenner (Keila), Tristán Ulloa (Damián), Begoña Vargas (Cameron), Julio Peña Fernández (Roi) and Joel Sánchez (Bruce).New characters in second season bring new names too. While Inma Cuesta plays Candela, a mysterious woman who has eyes on Berlin romantically, José Luis García-Pérez as the Duke of Málaga plays one of the central antagonists. Marta Nieto plays the Duchess of Málaga who adds aristocratic intrigue to the plot.
