for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026. Ahead of its big release, it has been reported that Akshaye Khanna, Suniel Shetty, and Sudesh Berry will apparently be a part of the second installment. All three actors have reportedly shot for the film. The report suggests that they will reprise their characters from the original Border. However, an official confirmation from the makers is awaited.
Akshaye, Suniel and Sudesh to join Border 2?

Border, Akshaye played the role of Second Lieutenant Dharamvir Singh Bhakhri while Suniel was seen as Assistant Commandant Bhairon Singh Rathore. On the other hand, Sudesh essayed the character of Naib Subedar Mathura Das. While their characters were killed in the first part, the second part will feature them as

Anurag and producer-writer Nidhi Dutta felt bringing the heroic characters from the 1997 war drama would make it a memorable experience. So, they incorporated this segment," a source told Mid-Day.The source further added, "The characters from the old and new films will cross paths at an event before the 1971 war begins. It’s a great idea as it not only brings the father-son duo of Suniel and Ahan on screen, but also harks back to the much loved movie."
Akshaye, Suniel and Sudesh shoot for Border 2?
Meanwhile, the media report suggests that Akshaye, Sudesh and Suniel have already shot for their cameo appearances in
Border 2. "In November, Akshaye and Sudesh filmed their portions in Mumbai. Suniel has been shooting for a new project in which he sports a distinct look. So, his parts were shot against a green screen, and will require special effects.
