Kalamkaval OTT Release: Mammootty's Crime Thriller Bagged By Popular Platform

As per reports, Kalamkaval will stream on SonyLIV after its theatrical run. The film Kalamkaval will have a digital release after a 40-day window. Normally, Malayalam films are released on OTT platforms within about 35 to 45 days of their theatrical release. In terms of Box Office numbers, Kalamkavam has earned big. As per Sacnilk, Kalamkaval earned an estimated Rs 4.75 crore net at the Indian box office on the first day. Including GST, the gross domestic collection is 5.6 crores. By the end of the weekend, it is likely to pull off strong numbers. Kalamkaval has scored the third biggest opening of the year for Mollywood. It surpassed Pranav Mohanlal's Dies Irae (4.7 crores) to claim the fourth spot on the list. It’s also opened to much higher numbers than Mammootty’s previous film, Bazooka, which opened at 3.2 crores.

About Kalamkaval

The film is set in the early 2000s in Kerala, and builds the story around communal disharmony triggered by a misunderstanding a girl running away. Later, series of cases around missing women emerges, leading to revelations and a deeper criminal conspiracy. The narrative blends mystery and tension keeping viewers hooked as the investigation unfolds in a small town. The technical crew includes cinematographer Faisal Ali, editor Praveen Prabhakar, music director Mujeeb Majeed, and production designer Shajie Naduvil. Backing the project is Mammootty Kampany, with distribution in Kerala handled by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films.
