Shah Rukh Khan and the owner of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, took to social media to react to the news of player Andre Russell's retirement. Andre Russell was expected to be one of the marquee names at the 2026 IPL Auction. However, the Caribbean powerhouse has announced his retirement from the tournament. While he will continue playing T20 cricket elsewhere, Russell is set to remain with KKR, joining Abhishek Nayar’s support staff for the upcoming season. On Sunday afternoon, November 30, Shah Rukh Khan penned a special note to send best wishes to the cricketer.

In an emotional X video, Andre Russell announced that he is stepping away from the IPL. The West Indian all-rounder spent 12 years with the Kolkata Knight Riders, winning two titles during his tenure. He will now return to the franchise as a member of the support staff, taking on the role of “power coach.”
