At the young age of 16, Asha Bhosle eloped with Ganpatrao Bhosle, a man 31 years older than her, against her family's wishes.The marriage was difficult and turbulent. The singer had revealed facing abuse and ill-treatment from her husband and her in-laws. Asha Bhosle eventually separated from Ganpatrao Bhosle.Asha Bhosle had three children from her marriage to Ganpatrao Bhosle, sons Hemant and Anand, and daughter Varsha.
Her eldest son, Hemant Bhosle passed away from cancer in Scotland in 2015 at the age of 66. Varsha Bhosle tragically passed away in 2012.Her youngest child, Anand Bhosle, studied business and film direction and went on to manage the legendary singer's career. He remained her closest support system in her final years.Of her three children, only Anand survives her today.
