The organisers of the 2025 MAMA Awards, along with several major K-pop companies and artists, have come together to make substantial donations in support of those affected by the recent Hong Kong fires.
2025 MAMA Awards donate 3.8 billion won to government's relief fund
According to a report in AllKPop, it was announced on November 28 that CJ ENM, the company behind the 2025 MAMA Awards, had donated 3.8 billion won to the Hong Kong government’s fire relief fund. This amount, which translates to approximately $2.5 million USD or $20 million HKD, is intended to support victims of the fires, including families who have lost loved ones. The donation also highlights CJ ENM’s continued commitment to international communities, especially during times of crisis.
Korean entertainment companies donate millions to Hong Kong relief fund
Amid the destruction caused by the fires, major K-pop entertainment companies, known for their global influence, have stepped forward with their own donations. SM Entertainment contributed $1 million HKD (approximately $128,446 USD) to the Hong Kong Red Cross, offering direct support to on-ground relief efforts. YG Entertainment followed with a donation of $1 million HKD toward emergency relief and recovery, and JYP Entertainment provided $2 million HKD (around $256,900 USD) to World Vision Hong Kong, an organisation actively assisting affected communities.

HYBE’s six labels collectively donated $2.66 million HKD (roughly $341,667 USD), demonstrating a unified effort across the company’s subsidiaries.
Stray Kids, aespa, GOT7 and others donated millions for Hong Kong fire relief
Individual K-pop groups and artists also joined in. Stray Kids, GOT7’s Jackson Wang, and Super Junior each donated $1 million HKD. aespa contributed $500,000 HKD, while RIIZE and WayV each donated $250,000 HKD. EXO-CBX added $500,000 HKD, and KickFlip donated $100,000 HKD to World Vision Hong Kong.Several rising groups also took part in the relief effort. IVE, TWS, and BOYNEXTDOOR each donated $500,000 HKD. Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE made a separate donation of 1 million yuan (approximately $141,000 USD), further strengthening the wave of support from the K-pop community.
