In Haq, directed by Suparn S Varma, Emraan Hashmi is playing a lawyer for the first time. Ahead of the trailer's release, the actor revealed why the drama film challenged him in a good way, even though
he had sleepless nights over a crucial monologue scene in the film. Written by Reshu Nath and inspired by the landmark Supreme Court judgement of Mohd. Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum, Haq is set to release in theatres on November 7, 2025.
Emraan Hashmi on Haq's most challenging scene
At the trailer launch in Mumbai, Emraan revealed that the final scene in Haq troubled him a bit. He shared, "I think the final monologue gave me a lot of sleepless nights. I used to haunt both Suparn and even Yami. This is a seven-page monologue they've given me. What if I screw up on the 20th line? Do I have to go back and do it again?"
He added, "Yami has done a couple of monologues. You've played a lawyer. This was a new thing for me because I've never played a lawyer before on screen. And generally when I look at characters in a script, if it's challenging, if it gives me sleepless nights, I go head-on into it. I'm very grateful that they came to me for this. I think that was the final scene. I think we both did it in one take finally... pages and pages of lines.ALSO READ: Two Sides, One Fight: Yami Gautam, Emraan Hashmi’s Stunning Character Posters From Haq RevealedPraising screenwriter Reshu Nath, Emraan also said, "When you get such great lines, it's fire on set. That is actually a takeaway. When you see the film, that final thing will be... my family saw it, and they were numb. They were crying after they left the film. That's what those final two monologues do." Produced by Junglee Pictures, along with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, Haq also stars Vartika Singh, Danish Husain, Sheeba Chadha, and Aseem Hattangady. The music for the film is composed by Vishal Mishra.
