Did Danish Pandor Audition For Main Vaapas Aaunga Before Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar?

Danish Pandor may have found immense fame in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, going toe-to-toe with Ranveer Singh, but it turns out the actor had actually auditioned for a film even before the release of the espionage drama and the said film is finding release now. Recently, Danish revealed that before Dhurandhar, he had actually auditioned for Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga - a film which will hit theatres this Friday - June 12. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari among others.In an interaction with Variety India, Danish revealed he came on board for Main Vaapas Aaunga even before Dhurandhar was released. He revealed he had auditioned for the role just before the release of the Aditya Dharfilm and "interestingly"

had "already shot for it before its release." Danish went on to add, "It all happened at the right time, and I'm really glad it did." According to Danish it was "quite a memorable experience." For the unversed, Danish essayed the role of Uzair Baloch in Dhurandhar.

During the course of the interaction, Danish also revealed that the role, which he was otherwise tight-lipped about is a departure from his previous work. The actor went on to add that he enjoy's challenging himself with every project and the character gave him the chance to explore a completely different space. "Even though it’s a special appearance, it carries a lot of weight, and that’s what drew me towards it,” he revealed.The actor also shared his experience working with Imtiaz Ali, calling it an "absolute privilege" and adding that it was surreal. According to Danish, Imtiaz Ali is "incredibly humble, warm and knows exactly what he wants." However, he confessed that the maverick filmmaker gives actors the freedom to explore and that even the smallest changes he suggests has the ability to completely transform a scene.

Meanwhile, recentlyEkta Kapoor reviewed the film and said audiences have no idea what awaits them when Main Vaapas Aaunga releases in June 2026. Calling the film an emotional journey filled with love, she said its impact lingers long after the credits roll.The producer was full of praise for the cast, describing Diljit Dosanjh's performance as restrained and effective, while lauding Sharvari for her impressive work. She reserved special praise for Vedang Raina, calling him a surprise package who is in top form in the film. Kapoor also hailed veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah as an icon.
