Things Season 5 released its last episode 8, The Rightside Up. And within minutes, it pushed Netflix to crash! While we know the OTT platform has had issues with streaming in the past due to online glitches and technical issues given the massive number of subscribers who tune in, the latest crash was massive. Fans were quick to post their disappointement, though many took a jibe in saying that Vecna is struck in the Upside Down! This comes as the cult show marks its finale with the release of episode 8 on December 31, 2025 (January 1, 2026 in India).

The crash reportedly lasted roughly for a minute. Though it got fixed after a few refreshes, it had already trigged a massive outcry from fans globally. Even in the past, several users have encountered technical errors with an image showing "Nailed It!" with the caption: "Something went wrong. Sorry, we’re having trouble with your request. You’ll find lots to explore on the home page." Though it soon gets sorted.

Meanwhile, Netflix had previously revealed that the show brought the streamer its highest Christmas Day viewership of all time this year. This was after the show dropped its Volume 2 recently, after a blockbuster Volume 1.
Stranger Things Season 5 has so far garnered 34.5 million views as reported by Netflix for the period between December 22-28, 2025. This marked the season’s second-best weekly total after its debut with 59.6 million views in November, that was reported to be Netflix’s best-ever opening week for an English-language title.
