Predator Badlands OTT premiere
On social media, JioHotstar revealed with a trailer of the latest sequel that viewers could watch Predator: Badlands in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on JioHotstar. The seventh film in the franchise follows Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a young Yautja outcast, who crash-lands on a hostile planet.
Dek must prove himself worthy of the hunt by killing an apex predator, and he forms an alliance with Thia, a Weyland-Yutani Corporation robot, played by Elle Fanning. The standalone film takes place on the Predators' home-world and focuses on the culture of their species. Interestingly, the Duffer Brothers, who created
Stranger Things, gave the voice of the onboard computer for Kwei's (Dek's older brother) ship. Trachtenberg was originally set to direct the third episode of Season 5 of the Netflix series.
