Dhurandhar:
The Revenge continues its record-breaking run at the box office, crossing massive milestones globally and fans are celebrating the film’s scale and success along with its performances. Among the standout moments is the powerful dynamic between Ranveer Singh and Mustafa Ahmed, who plays Rizwan in the film. In an exclusive conversation with Zoom, Mustafa opened up about how one of their key scenes came together purely through instinct, without any prior discussion or planning, making it one of the most talked-about sequences in the film. He also talked about him and Ranveer communicating 'telepathically'.
Mustafa Ahmed talks about his scenes with Ranveer Singh
Talking about their now-viral scene, where they interact for the first time in the film as Gaurav Gera's Aalam introduces them, Mustafa revealed how the two actors approached it with complete spontaneity. He shared, “We knew basically what the whole entire story was but when we were playing it, we were supposed to play it in a way where it should not come across that you know that we know each other. And none of it was by the way planned. Forget about brief from Aditya sir, but there was no discussion between me and Ranveer also before that scene.”
This lack of preparation, according to Mustafa, actually worked in their favour. Instead of rehearsing or overthinking, both actors chose to rely on instinct. He explained, “We just decided to like you know play it on our instinct. I think we both decided that the looks will just kind of telepathically be exchanged. But at no point would it be that we look and then we give this idea to people that oh you know you're the same guy.”The result was a scene filled with understated tension and subtle communication, something audiences immediately picked up on. Mustafa further elaborated on a specific moment that stood out, saying, “And I think it worked out brilliantly. If the audience will remember, where I shake hands with him and by the end of the shake hand before we sit and I give him the information there's a shake of my head. And that just that - the nod is like you know that okay, 'now we're here, let's move what needs to be done.' But that's completely based on our instinct. There's no briefing, nothing spoken and I think it worked really well.”Watch the full interview here:

Interestingly, Mustafa Ahmed’s journey into acting is as compelling as his performance. Before stepping into films, he was a well-known fitness trainer who had worked closely with stars like Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Hrithik Roshan. With Dhurandhar 2, he makes a strong transition into acting, playing Rizwan, the trusted right-hand man of Ranveer’s character Hamza Ali Mazari. He has also played a stripper's role in Yami Gautam's film Dhoom Dhaam, but it was more of a special appearance.Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 has emerged as a box office juggernaut, inching towards the Rs 1,000 crore mark in India while already surpassing Rs 1,500 crore worldwide since its release on March 19. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and Gaurav Gera.
