Kapoor's Jai Singh Rathore is making a comeback on the small screen again with 24 making its digital debut. The action drama, 24, took place over one tense, action-filled day involving a terrorist threat. Both seasons of 24 will premiere on JioHotstar on April 24, with eight episodes being released every Friday. The veteran actor took over the role made popular by Kiefer Sutherland in the Emmy Award-winning Fox series of the same name. Incidentally, Anil had first starred in the American version as President Omar Hassan in the eighth season of the original American series in 2010. Find out more about the Indian remake below.

Anil Kapoor's 24 to premiere on JioHotstar in April 2026

On social media, Anil starred in a promo video that gave the streaming service 24 hours. However, before the deadline was over, the actor revealed that the spy thriller universe was about to change before revealing the release date. Told in real-time, the spy series ran for two seasons on Colors TV, with Anil in the lead.

The American series was co-created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran. The Hindi show was written by Rensil D'Silva, Bhavani Iyer, Niranjan Iyengar and Priya Pinto. Silvia co-directed the Indian series with Abhinay Deo and Nitya Mehra. The first season of 24 premiered in 2013, while the second season returned in 2016.

Anil also shared a statement in which he proclaimed that 24 was never just another show for him. He revealed that the pace, pressure, and real-time storytelling kept him constantly on edge, both as an actor and as a storyteller. The project that challenged him in the best way and continued to be very close to his heart.

Star-studded cast of Indian 24

The 48 episodes of the Indian 24 are packed with the who's who of Indian TV and films. Tisca Chopra plays Trisha Rathod, Jai's wife, while Sapna Pabbi plays his daughter Kiran. Adhish Khanna and Akshay Ajit Singh played the role of their son Veer in seasons 1 and 2, respectively. Other key roles in the spy thriller were played by actors Neil Bhoopalam, Anita Raj, Mandira Bedi, Madhurima Tuli, Sakshi Tanwar, Suchitra Pillai, Rajeev Siddhartha, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rahul Khanna, Richa Chadha, Sikander Kher, Ashish Vidyarthi, Surveen Chawla, Harsh Chhaya, Sumit Kaul, Karanvir Sharma, Sudhanshu Pandey, Naveen Polishetty, Akash Khurana, Angad Bedi, and Amruta Khanvilkar. Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi and Ronit Roy had prominent guest star roles in the two seasons as well.
