Peddi was first offered to Khushi Kapoor
Earlier, in an interview with
M9, director Buchi Babu Sana revealed he initially narrated Achiyamma's character to Khushi Kapoor. "But once I saw her in person, I realised that she’s too young for this character. Now, imagine when I have to reject Khushi and give narration to Janhvi in the same home," he said. The director also recalled asking Janhvi if his younger sister Khushi took an offence after being rejected.
The filmmaker went on to share that he could only imagine Janhvi playing the role whenever he narrated the script to others. He felt that the actress was meant to do this character.
