About Galwan Valley Conflict
The
Galwan Valley Conflict is a significant chapter in the history of the Indian military services. In June 2020, a series of clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley region of Ladakh, resulted in casualties on both sides due to a significant escalation in the Sino-Indian border dispute. Soldiers fought back, even in hand-to-hand combat.
According to reports, 20 Indian soldiers killed, whereas China reported 4 dead. As per reports, the Galwan Valley Conflict was a result of a dispute over infrastructure development and territorial claims along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. It is said that China objected to the Indian construction of a road connecting the Darbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldi road to an important airbase, which they viewed as a threat to their territorial claims in the region. After the clash, India and China engaged in multiple rounds of diplomatic and military talks to de-escalate the situation and resolve the border dispute. Both countries haven’t come to a conclusion.
Battle of Galwan is produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films. The war movie releases on April 17.
