Dharmendra’s Iconic Sholay Motorcycle Parked In Panaji As Tribute To Film And Dosti At IFFI 2025

24), the actor was cremated at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Vile Parle, Mumbai. As we all know, the 56th International Film Festival Of India is being held in Goa. Hence, the organisers have parked Dharmendra’s iconic Jai-Veeru motorcycle from Sholay on the street of Panaji as a tribute to the film and Dosti at IFFI 2025.

Tribute to Dharmendra at IFFI 2025

A video posted by ANI shows IFFI showcasing the bike from Sholay, which had a sidecar, as a celebration of Dosti (friendship) and the film. Sadly, actor Dharmendra couldn’t see this, as he passed away today at the age of 89. ANI’s X post read, “Panaji, Goa: International Film Festival of India (IFFI) showcases the iconic 'Jai-Veeru' bike from the film Sholay, marking 50 years of 'Dosti' and 'Sholay'. Veteran actor and former Member of Parliament Dharmendra passed away today at the age of 89.”

It has been kept inside the glass box. For the unversed, Sholay has completed 50 years in August 2025. Dharmendra played the role of Veeru, while Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Jai in the Ramesh Sippy directorial. Sholay was a blockbuster at the box office. It also starred Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan and Amjad Khan in pivotal roles. Coming back to Dharmendra, his last rites were attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and others. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Kajol, Karan Johar paid tributes to the late veteran actor. May his soul rest in peace!
