Speaking with
Zoom, the actress shared, "My first producer award and I hope that there are many more. I'm just happy to be here. I've been to many Filmfares. I won my first Filmfare for Gangs of Wasseypur, Best Actress in a Critics category. But what's amazing is because this is an OTT award, I saw some amazing films. Stolen won six awards tonight, Black Warrant, Paatal Lok won, Tillotama [Shome], Sanya [Malhotra], a lot of people who would otherwise not win Best Actor or Film... it's lovely that it's leveled the playing field to some extent. Of course, films are films, but in these times of flux, when we are still figuring out theatricals and web films, this is just fantastic."

So essentially it's a freedom war for culture. We have to preserve this culture of telling stories and stories that are tender and joyful. This itself is a rebellion to tell these stories in a testosterone-driven environment."
Girls Will Be Girls is directed by Shuchi Talati and is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The night's acting winners, Preeti Panigrahi and Kani Kusruti play daughter and mother, respectively, in the coming-of-age drama set at a boarding school.
