Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta now lets parents check the topic their kids discussed with Meta AI over. This update was rolled out on Thursday, applying to Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. This move will help the parents by giving them more control for the safety of their children, using a new ‘Insights’ tab in the supervision hub. Meta claims that the tool is designed to inform parents about the safety of their children without exposing their full conversations. Rather than showing the exact messages, the update suggests broader themes to help parents understand the interest and concerns of their kids better.Explaining the update, Meta said, “These new insights and proactive alerts are just some of the ways we’re working to make parental supervision even more valuable for parents. They build on the supervision features already available, which — among other things — allow parents to set time limits, schedule breaks, and see who their teen has been chatting to in the past seven days.”

Meta Tightens Teen SecurityThe tech firm planned such tools in October last year to improve teen safety around its Meta AI. It even included banning certain AI characters by parents. Earlier this year, Meta stopped access to its AI characters for teenagers that included AI characters mimicking Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg. The suspension of such AI characters came after Meta lost a court case in New Mexico, where it was accused of not doing enough to teenagers.
