Kumar and Tabu reunited for Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla. The horror comedy has crossed Rs 100 crore. Today, on the occasion of International Dance Day, the makers of the film released the much-anticipated songs, O Ri O Sanwariya. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Javed Ali, the classical dance sequence is picturised on Akshay and Tabu. Composed by Pritam, the track plays an important role in the narrative as it defines the mystery and adds weight to the story. O Ri O Sanwariya also features Jisshu Sengupta.
Story behind Bhooth Bangla song O Ri O Sanwariya
O Ri O Sanwariya is set in ancient Mangalpur, a fictional town in North India. Yashoda (Tabu) is a prolific dancer from Bengal, who is in love with Vasudev (Jisshu). However, Madhav, the son of Dushund Acharya (Rajesh Sharma), secretly loves her. Mesmerised by her, he takes the opportunity to share the stage with her. When Madhav learns about Yashoda and Vasudev’s relationship, he invites trouble by summoning the demon Vadhusur. He forcefully marries Yashoda, leaving Vasudev heartbroken. The mystery of Vadhusur is further solved in the film.

Bhooth Bangla is set in the ghostly and quiet town of
Mangalpur. Young brides and couples are prohibited from passing through, fearing mishaps and incidents of kidnapping and sudden deaths. Its resident demon Vadhusur is to be blamed. Despite being warned against getting his sister married in Mangalpur, Arjun Acharya challenges the demon. Later, when his father, Dr Vasudev Acharya, a scholar of the Vedas and Hindu scriptures, reveals Vadhusur’s identity, Arjun has to protect his family from the unforeseen.
Bhooth Bangla movie budget revealed
Bhooth Bangla also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Mithila Palkar in pivotal roles. Reportedly, the film is mounted on a lavish budget of Rs 120 crore. The horror comedy crossed the Rs 200 crore mark globally.

Bhooth Bangla into a franchise. Following its success and positive audience reception, the possibility of its sequel is high. The makers haven’t announced it yet. After Bhooth Bangla, Priyadarshan and Akshay reunite for Haiwaan. The movie, co-starring Saif Ali Khan, is scheduled to release this year.
