In a world where female characters are too often boxed into type, The Family Man 3 is quietly rewriting the rules with equally strong roles for the women. The show's co-creator, Raj Nidimoru, revealed
that some of its most powerful characters weren’t written as “women” at all. Instead, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nimrat Kaur’s roles were crafted as people first. So much so that, as Raj admits, their parts “could easily be played by men.”Raj Nidimoru On Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nimrat Kaur In an exclusive interview with Zoom, he said, "Think of them as persons and not with gender. Creating a character, man or woman, that's it. That is the biggest thing. So, never think it's a female character so we need to kind of play it this way or that way. That's why most of these roles that you just listed could easily be played by men. All three roles you just listed could have been a man, and it would fit right there."He added, "I saw the similarity. We actually wrote Nimran's role as a guy in the first draft and then we could easily switch. Suddenly, the female character became so interesting and exciting and unique."
