Anuv Jain's exclusive statement on Arijit Singh's retirement
In an
exclusive interview with Zoom, Anuv said, “It was a bit bittersweet (feeling) because we've all grown up listening to Arijit Singh in Bollywood movies. I hope that eventually he finds his way back to Bollywood music because he'll be deeply missed. Every year, you have ten songs at least that he releases that are going to become legendary, and we would be hearing them like ten years down the line as well. That's obviously a very beautiful thing and I believe he is an absolute legend.”
Anuv Jain excited to see how Arijit Singh takes non-film music ahead
Anuv further added, “At the same time, we need to read between the lines. I haven't spoken to him. I have no idea what he plans to do later but because he said he's just putting playback on hold and that he's going to be working on his own stuff. Arijit will probably release music more independently or what we call non-film music. We're still going to be listening to him. It's going to be in a different way, and in a different light. After a person has probably sung like a thousand songs, he deserves to do his own thing as well and release music the way he wants to. I am looking forward to it because that's going to take non-film music ahead as well.”
