Space Gen Chandrayaan Teaser: Nakuul Mehta, Shriya Saran Show About India's Lunar Mission To Release On THIS Date

In 2019, India launched an ambitious lunar exploration mission through their space program. The journey of Chandrayaan-2 launched by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) brought both joy and despair.

The Viral Fever recaptures those moments in time with the series Space Gen – Chandrayaan in the new year. Releasing on January 23, 2026, just before Republic Day weekend on JioHotstar, the drama series has been directed by Anant Singh with creator Arunabh Kumar also filling in as showrunner. All episodes, starring Nakuul Mehta and Shriya Saran, will be ready to watch on release day. Check out the first teaser below!

On social media, JioHotstar announced, "Chaand tak ka safar aasaan toh nahi tha, par Bharat ke liye namumkin bhi nahi tha! Witness the untold story of the scientists who turned India’s dreams into history. Hotstar Specials: Space Gen – Chandrayaan, all episodes streaming Jan 23 on JioHotstar." With limited resources, India's space program mounts an audacious mission to explore the surface of the moon. Before they are successful, there are setbacks but the eventual success makes up for the difficult journey they endure.

More about Space Gen – Chandrayaan

Besides Nakuul Mehta and Shriya Saran, Space Gen – Chandrayaan also features Prakash Belawadi, Danish Sait, and Gopal Datt as members of the project team. Director Anant Singh shared in a statement, "India’s Lunar Mission is a masterclass in resilience and ambition. We knew early on that the soul of the story resides as much in the people who carried its weight as it does in the mission. It is a story of pride, unwavering faith, and the ability to rise above failure." While it is based on real events, Space Gen – Chandrayaan is a dramatised story with fictional characters. The series shows how the ordinary scientists who bore the expectations of an entire nation.
