Farhan Akhtar's 120 Bahadur is a war-drama which honours the historic bravery of Charlie Company of the Kumaon Regiment, received major recognition from Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government announced that
the film will be tax-free across the state.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Congratulates the Makers
Confirming the decision, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took to X to underline the importance of the tribute. She wrote: “#120Bahadur, a historical war film, pays tribute to the extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought valiantly in the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. The film highlights the inspiring leadership of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, whose actions and sacrifice remain a defining symbol of courage in India’s military history. As a special mark of respect to the valiant soldiers, the Delhi Government has decided to grant tax-free status to the film in Delhi from 28th Nov. Congratulations to the creators of the film!”
Expected Boost in Audience Footfall
The tax-free status is likely to increase cinema attendance, especially encouraging families, students, and young viewers to witness the heroic retelling of the Battle of Rezang La on the big screen.
Box Office Performance Shows Mild Dip
The film witnessed a slight mid-week slowdown at the box office. According to Sacnilk,
120 Bahadur collected Rs 1 crore on Wednesday (Day 6), a drop from Rs 1.50 crore on Tuesday.This follows Monday’s impressive jump to Rs 1.4 crore. So far, the film has amassed an estimated Rs 14 crore net in India.
