One of the most loved roles of the actor is his comic timing in Govinda, Akshay Kumar's Bhagam Bhag, which was released in 2006. Now, the sequel to this movie, Bhagam Bhag 2, is continuously making headlines, but Govinda fans were confused ever since the reports of Manoj Bajpayee replacing him made rounds. Now, finally, Rawal has openly shared the casting changes.

Govinda Is NOT Part Of Bhagam Bhag 2

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the veteran actor confirmed that Manoj Bajpayee has indeed replaced Govinda in the film, and while speaking about Akshay Kumar and Manoj Bajpayee coming together to play the leads, he shared, “It'll make for a different and unique combination."

Sharing that he genuinely has no idea why the actor was replaced, and added, "However, we’ll miss Govinda." Also, the actor who has played a double role in many movies including Platform (1993), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Janam Kundli (1995), Chor Machaye Shor (2002) and in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008), he played a triple role, will play a double role in Bhagam Bhag 2 again.

In Bhagam Bhag 2, Meenakshi Chaudhary, who is set to make her return to Hindi cinema as the female lead is also joining Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Manoj Bajpayee. Last seen in Upstarts (2019), Chaudhary is paired opposite Kumar. Interestingly, the search for a leading lady to star opposite Bajpayee is still underway.According to a report of Variety, the sequel to Bhagam Bhag is said to have a fresh storyline centred on mistaken identities, comedy of errors and too much chaos. The makers are trying to stay true to the spirit of the original, which was directed by Priyadarshan.

Bhagam Bhag was released in 2006. It was one of the big hits of the year. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film also starred Lara Dutta, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Joshi, Sharad Saxena, Asrani, Arbaaz Khan and others in key roles. Tanushree Dutta did a cameo appearance in the film. It was a suspense thriller with a comedy touch. Paresh Rawal will next be seen in Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Bhoot Bangla and the Hera Pheri sequel.
