Rumours around a Hindi remake of the Telugu hitDear Comrade recently created a buzz on social media, with reports suggesting that Siddhant Chaturvedi and Pratibha Ranta were being considered for the lead
roles. The speculation quickly picked up pace, prompting fans to discuss casting choices and expectations. However, the actors have now addressed the claims directly, putting an end to the ongoing chatter through their respective Instagram Stories.
Siddhant Chaturvedi will NOT do remakes
Siddhant Chaturvedi was the first to clarify his stance on the rumours. Shutting down reports of his involvement, the actor wrote on his Instagram Stories, "Just to clarify guys, this isn’t true.” He further revealed that he has decided to step away from remakes for the time being. Siddhant added, praising the cast, “No remakes for me anymore, even though I’m a fan of the original film and the actors, much love and respect. Thank you.” While distancing himself from the project, the actor made it clear that his admiration for
Dear Comrade and its original cast remains intact.Interestingly, Siddhant also expressed his desire to collaborate with Pratibha Ranta, but on a different note altogether. He shared, “Anyhow I’d love to collaborate with the supremely talented @pratibha_ranta on something original. Looking forward.” His comment was well-received by fans, who appreciated his emphasis on original storytelling over remakes. Siddhant was last seen in
Dhadak 2, which itself was a remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil film
Pariyerum Perumal (2018).
Pratibha Ranta calls out unverified information
On the other hand, Pratibha Ranta chose a more measured response. Without confirming or denying her involvement in the
Dear Comrade remake, she addressed the larger issue of unverified reports being circulated in her name. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Pratibha wrote, “With due respect, I kindly request all media pages to please refrain from posting or circulating any unverified information and wait for an official announcement. This has been happening with me for quite some time now, with several projects that I am not associated with, which often leads to unnecessary confusion. I would truly appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and continued support in this matter.”
