Putting
an end to speculations, Yash Raj Films clarified that Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s spy-thriller Alpha, will be releasing in theatres only. Amid buzz that the makers might take it straight to a premium OTT platform, July 10 was locked for its theatrical release. Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who will be seen in a prominent role in the Shiv Rawail-directed film, told Zoom exclusively that he was not aware of the rumour of Alpha missing its theatrical release. He said a film’s fate is not in the actor’s hands, and he believes in putting his head down, working and leaving the character on set and returning home.
Dibyendu Bhattacharya on rumours around Alpha's release
Dibyendu shared in the interview that he heard the rumour for the first time because he prefers staying distant from such discussions. “
Main jaata hu, apna kaam karta hu aur sab kuch bhool ke vapas ghar aa jata hu. I move on. Jitna zyada indulge karoge, utna zyada pata chalega ki humare haath mein kuch nahi hai. I don’t get bothered by anything beyond my work,” he said.
Dibyendu Bhattacharya wants films to see daylight after Chakda Xpress' delay
Dibyendu’s film,
Chakda Xpress, is awaiting a release. Amid that, the actor’s only desire was - “
Main bas chahta hu film bane aur it should see the light of the day. Ek film banane mein bohot logon ki mehnat rehti hai. Ek filmmaker paanch salon se uss film pe kaam kar raha hai. What matters is
voh film release ho. Who will value the filmmaker’s journey with the film?” he added. Signing off, Dibyendu said, Even I am excited to watch Alpha. Kabhi kabhi monitor pe khud ke scenes dekh leta hu. I am also waiting for the film to release.”
