Oakley and Meta have officially launched the Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses in India, blending Oakley’s sporty design with Meta’s AI and spatial computing capabilities. The goal, as Meta notes, is to offer athletes and everyday users a smart wearable that can track performance, record moments effortlessly and provide real-time assistance without pulling out a phone. Here’s everything you need to know about these new AI-powered glasses.Oakley Meta HSTN AI Glasses Features Oakley and Meta have packed the Meta HSTN with a strong hardware setup for a device that looks like a standard pair of sports sunglasses. The frame includes an integrated camera that allows users to capture photos and videos while moving, making it useful for athletes, creators
or anyone who wants hands-free recording. The glasses use open-ear speakers so that users can hear audio cues without blocking surrounding sounds, a decent addition for outdoor activities. Oakley also says the glasses are rated IPX4, which means they're resistant to splashes and light rain. One of the standout features is battery performance. According to Oakley, the Meta HSTN can run for up to eight hours on a single charge and offers around 19 hours of standby time. The included charging case extends usage significantly with an extra 48 hours of power. High-quality 3K video recording is supported as well and Meta AI provides instant voice-based insights and assistance.ALSO READ: What Do We Know About Jony Ive And Sam Altman’s ‘Mysterious’ OpenAI Device? The glasses double as a full-fledged AI companion. A simple “Hey Meta” triggers hands-free controls, allowing users to ask questions, record moments, set reminders or look up information. In a major boost for Indian users, Meta and Oakley have ensured complete Hindi language support through the Meta AI app. This addition, powered by Sarvam’s tools, makes the device far more accessible, letting users interact, search or manage tasks directly in Hindi.Meta is also introducing its new Celebrity AI Voice feature on these glasses. Among the first voices available in India is the English AI voice of Deepika Padukone, adding a familiar and expressive tone to the assistant. Meta’s global celebrity lineup will expand over time, bringing more recognisable voices to the device. The companies are also experimenting with turning the glasses into a payment tool. Oakley is testing UPI Lite integration, allowing users to look at a QR code and say, “Hey Meta, scan and pay.” Payments will be processed through WhatsApp-linked bank accounts, making the entire process hands-free and quick.Oakley Meta HSTN AI Glasses Colours, Availability And PriceOakley is launching the Meta HSTN range in six frame and lens combinations, all of which are prescription-ready.
