Maanvi Gagroo discusses rigid beauty standards
In conversation with us, Maanvi revealed that the film industry will always remain a microcosm of the society we live in, fortunately or unfortunately. "Are there more conversations around rigid & gender skewed beauty standards? Yes. Are they amounting to real change and opportunities? Not so sure. While a lot of alternate media is pushing for this change, mainstream media still is very rigid in this respect," she said.
The actress recalled a high momentum of such conversations which happened a few years ago. "It felt like real change was around the corner but then came the weight loss miracle injections. And we all regressed decades. ‘Heroin chic’, ‘tummy tuckers’, ‘snapback’, etc are all very much back in our vocabulary," added Maanvi.
