Balan has recently got emotional after watching her film, The Last Tenant, featuring late actor Irrfan Khan for the first time. It was indeed an emotional moment for the actress, as Irrfan is not there to watch their film, directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, after 25 years. For the unversed, Vidya and Irrfan shared screen space for the first time back 25 years ago for this film, which didn’t release in theatres after it was shot. Now, it is releasing on YouTube after 25 years. Vidya got an opportunity to watch it last night, and after watching the film, she went through a roller coaster ride of emotions and memories.

Vidya Balan Remembers Irrfan After Watching The Last Tenant

Vidya Balan shared a clip of The Last Tenant, which is releasing on YouTube soon. She watched the film last night and got nostalgic about it. She recalled how her first Malayalam film, Chakram, was shelved, and after that, she was replaced in almost a dozen films over the period of three years. Last week, she got a text from director Sarthak Dasgupta informing her about the release of The Last Tenant on YouTube. She remembered how she got excited after seeing Irrfan Khan as her co-star on the set. At that time, Irrfan was known for his iconic show, Banegi Apni Baat. Vidya confessed that after seeing the Piku actor, she immediately called her sister and informed her about the same. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa star stated that Irrfan was the most natural actor then and felt the same last night after she watched him again.

Vidya Balan still misses Irrfan Khan and said that after his passing, she has rued the fact that a couple of films that would have had them play opposite each other didn’t materialise due to some reasons. But now, she is happy with the fact that she has at least one with him, The Last Tenant. Vidya concluded her note by stating, “Thank you, @sarthak_dasgupta. It took 25 years for our stars to align, my fellow Capricorn, #irrfankhan, but they did after all.”
