showThe 50 is getting more and more controversial by the day and at the centre of the storm is Prince Narula. One of the earliest and most dramatic exits from the show was that of content creator Vanshaj Singh, who was evicted within the first few hours and the decision was taken by the captains including Prince. Now, in an exclusive conversation with Zoom, Vanshaj has opened up about his disappointment, hurt, and sense of betrayal, especially because Prince was once someone he deeply admired.
Vanshaj Singh was inspired by Prince
Calling himself a former fan of Prince Narula, Vanshaj did not hold back while expressing how personally affected he felt by the eviction. “I was a fan. I am a disappointed fan. I am hurt,” he said. Vanshaj explained that Prince’s journey as an outsider in reality television had inspired him for years. According to Vanshaj, Prince symbolised hope for people from small towns who dream of making a mark without industry backing. “Maine yeh baat har jagah boli hai ki main unko dekh ke seekhta tha ki kaise tum jaoge aur being an outsider, you can make space for yourself,” he shared.
However, that admiration has now turned into disillusionment. Vanshaj questioned how newcomers are supposed to create space for themselves when they are not even given a chance to stay. He accused Prince of behaving in ways that go against everything he once stood for. “Par woh space kaise milegi jab aap khud hi woh cheez kar rahe ho, everything jiske aap against the,” Vanshaj remarked, bluntly adding that he felt Prince was being hypocritical. The influencer also recalled how fellow contestant Khanzadi took a stand for him even after his eviction. During that conversation, Prince reportedly questioned whether Khanzadi even knew Vanshaj’s name. Vanshaj countered this argument sharply, saying that no one can be remembered if they are not allowed to stay long enough on the show. Drawing a comparison, he said that if Prince himself had been evicted on the very first day of his first reality show, he too would not have been remembered.
Vanshaj calls Prince 'hypocrite'
Clarifying his stance, Vanshaj stressed that his criticism is not random or attention-seeking. “He literally spoke my name aur unhone mere ko show se nikaala hai unfairly,” he said, adding that he is simply fighting for himself. He also dismissed claims that he is chasing fame by calling out Prince. Referring to Prince’s association with Elvish Yadav, Vanshaj said that if fame was his goal, he could have easily dragged Elvish’s name into the controversy, but he consciously chose not to.
Instead, Vanshaj said his fight is for countless young dreamers like him. “Meri tarah aise bahut se bacche honge jo sapna dekhte honge chhote shehar se,” he said, stressing that his stand is only to show the harsh reality behind glamorous reality shows. Vanshaj said he felt it was important to speak the truth. According to him, the idol he once looked up to no longer practices what he preaches.Watch full interview here:
