Ever since the trailer was released, there has been constant chatter that the film promotes infidelity. For the unversed, the movie revolves around Ayushmann's Prajapati Pandey, who finds himself caught between three women. Recently, in an interview, director Mudassar Aziz reacted to the perception that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do promotes infidelity. The filmmaker dismissed the same, stating that women are never recipients of male behaviour in his movies.
Mudassar Aziz on Pati Patni Aur Woh Do
In an interview with Mid Day, Mudassar stated that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is his seventh film. The director revealed that he's never done a film that legitimises infidelity. He also feels misunderstood when he faces such criticism. Mudassar shared that he and Ayushmann have history of doing projects that don't approach gender politics in skewed way.
"In

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do director admitted it took some time to get
Ayushmann on board. Mudassar recalled they did three rounds of narrations. "After the first time, Ayushmann said he wanted to hear it again. Before the third narration was over, he was having so much fun that he said, ‘Let’s do it'," he added. The director concluded by saying that Ayushmann comes with a history of difficult subjects. According to Aziz, the actor is never afraid of complicated emotional space.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is the sequel to Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday's 2019 film. The movie has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra, and Krishan Kumar. The film was initially set for a theatrical release on March 4 this year. But its release has been pushed to May 15.
