These films are yet to be shortlisted for the prestigious honour, but the milestone is being widely celebrated. Earlier, Hombale Films announced on social media that Kantara: Chapter 1 and Mahavatar Narasimha have been submitted to the Academy’s General Entry List. For those unversed, both the movies are now eligible for consideration in key Oscar categories such as Best Picture, acting, direction, cinematography, production design, and screenplay. They will first be reviewed by the Academy before getting shortlisted and nominated. About Kantara: Chapter 1Directed by and headlined by Rishab, Kantara: Chapter 1 is the prequel of the 2022 hit. The mythological drama also featured Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles.
