psychological thriller Eko, directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written by Bahul Ramesh, which released in cinemas on November 21, and later went on to debut on Netflix continues to win appreciation. Among those who has shared a appreciation note on it is Dhanush, who shared his thoughts on social media, describing the film as “a masterpiece.” He also praised Biana Momin’s performance in one of the key roles, calling it a “world-class” act deserving of the highest recognition. Eko marks the film debut of the Meghalaya-national, who plays a Malaysian character named Mlathi Chedathi.

Taking to X, Dhanush posted "EKO the Malayalam film is a masterpiece. Actor Biana momin deserves all the highest honours. World class performance." Acclaimed for its gripping narrative and immersive atmosphere, the film earned over Rs 50 crore at the box office despite being made on a modest budget of Rs 5 crore. Its unconventional storyline and powerful performances got the film widespread praise during its theatrical run. Eko is currently streaming on Netflix from December 31 and is available in five languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

The film centres on the mysterious disappearance of Kuriachan (Saurabh Sachdeva), a dog breeder with a dark past. As the investigation unfolds, former close friends, professional associates, and police officials searching for him all appear to have their own reasons—either to see him brought to justice or taken away for his alleged crimes. Kuriachan is also said to have been involved in multiple conflicts with various gangs, an interesting part is that his wife offers no clarity about his whereabouts. The question remains whether he is still alive and, if so, where he is hiding. Eko marks the third and final chapter of writer Bahul Ramesh’s Animal Trilogy, following Kishkindha Kaandam (2024) and Kerala Crime Files 2 (2025).On the work front, Dhanush is currently working on Vignesh Raja's D54.
