BTS,
the global phenomenon, finally made their most anticipated comeback in March 2026 with the album ARIRANG, marking a historic return after military service. The album, blending Korean roots with global pop, already broke several records. This comeback included a massive documentary release on Netflix and a Gwanghwamun concert. The group has already kick-started their world tour, which is set to break records in the upcoming days. Amid this, SUGA, also known as Min Yoongi, reflected on the group's success and shared that the members can keep going in their 70s and 80s. However, he has mentioned one major change that might be implemented in their old age.
SUGA on BTS' success
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, SUGA was asked about the 'secret' to BTS' success. He answered, "They’re just really funny. It’s fun to be around them. I think of them as family. I’m sure that’s part of our success is that we share such a strong bond." There was not an inch of doubt regarding BTS' comeback because the band promised to their beloved ARMYs that they would be back together. The
Bangtan Boys (RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook) pursued solo projects befire enlisting to the South Korean military. In response to the question of whether the band had any thoughts of permanently breaking up after their separation, SUGA said, “Before going into the military, I knew we were always gonna get back together.”
“I can see how it would be surprising from a foreign perspective,” he added. “But for us, staying together just felt obvious," he added. The singer-rapper-producer further added that he is confident that BTS will continue their activities as a band as long as they are physically able. “I believe we can keep going in our 70s and 80s,” SUGA said but also added that as they get older, they may have to tone down their famously complex choreography a bit.
