As the dispute moves towards an investigation by the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPAA), speculation is growing over the future of the highly anticipated film. A trade analyst believes the situation has escalated to a point where both Farhan and Ranveer may prefer to pursue separate paths, at least for now. Amid the uncertainty, all eyes are on Akhtar's next move and the fate of Don 3.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh told NDTV that he believed the ideal outcome would have been for Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar to resolve their differences through dialogue. However, he felt the situation has now escalated considerably. Sharing his view, Adarsh said, "If you ask my honest opinion, I would want Ranveer, as well as Farhan to sit across the table and sort it out. But things have gone beyond control right now and I'm sure they would want to go separate ways for the time being at least."

Discussing the future of Don 3, he noted that only Farhan can provide a clear answer on the franchise's next steps. He suggested that the filmmaker could either consider a new actor for the project, take on a new venture, or focus on acting. "I feel either Farhan would be thinking of someone else for Don 3 or maybe he's starting something fresh or maybe he's concentrating on an acting assignment," he said. So far, Akhtar has not publicly revealed his plans regarding the franchise.

The Don 3 dispute is now expected to be reviewed by the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPAA). IMPAA President Abhay Sinha told the portal the body will investigate the film's pre-production expenditure and examine the contractual agreement between the parties before taking a decision."This issue will now be handled by IMPAA. The producers' association will do a full investigation on how much money was spent on pre-production and what Ranveer's contract says. All these will be investigated and then a decision will be taken," Sinha said. He also revealed that Farhan Akhtar's team has already approached the association and that IMPAA will review the documents before attempting to resolve the matter. "We don't take just the producers' side, we will side with the one who is correct," he added.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh with immediate effect.
