Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has been in the making for quite some time now. After multiple date changes, the romantic comedy is finally releasing on June 5 in theatres worldwide. The film is helmed by David Dhawan, who reunites with his son Varun after Coolie No 1 (2020) on Prime Video. The makers were supposed to launch the trailer at an event in Mumbai today (May 21). However, it has been cancelled. The trailer of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai will now release on a later date, which is yet to be announced.

trailer launch event was supposed to begin at a suburban theatre in Mumbai with the cast and other members in attendance. However, the event got cancelled at the last minute due to a technical glitch. The new trailer release date is expected to be announced soon.

Recently, there were reports of
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai being a remake of David’s previous film
Sandwich starring Govinda. However, in an official statement, the makers wrote, “It has come to our attention that there are discussions in the trade and amongst the public regarding our film, "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" Tips, Ramesh Taurani Ji, David Dhawan Ji, along with the cast and crew, would like to clarify that the film is an original story and screenplay and bears no resemblance to any other film. We have poured our hearts into making this Film and sincerely look forward to welcoming audiences to cinemas on 5th June for a fun-filled family experience.”Rumours around the film being a remake kicked off after the teaser hinted at its story.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’s teaser opens with the
AI-generated babies introducing Varun as Jassi, Mrunal as Baani and Pooja as Preet. As shown in the clip, their father is the same. The internet was quickly reminded of Govinda, Raveena Tandon and Mahima Chaudhry’s Sandwich, also directed by David.
