The superstar's positive and kind words about the smaller film will boost its profile now that it is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Set in rural Telangana, Dhandoraa has been inspired by a true incident from August 2019 in Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

Written and directed by Murali Kanth, the Telugu film stars Sivaji, Navdeep, Shree Nandu, Ravi Krishna, Bindu Madhavi, Mounica, Manika, and Raadhya. The narrative of Dhandoraa focuses on the love story between two young people who are from different castes. The girl's father, played by Sivaji, opposes her relationship, and later the elders of the village murder the young man in a shocking honour killing. The young woman is unable to deal with the loss of her love and takes her own life. These troubling incidents set the stage for the film. The 135-minute film also focuses on a young man who returns to his hometown to pay a final visit to his dead father.
