Overcoming
its early delay in release, the Tamil film Karuppu has become a bona fide blockbuster and one of Suriya's highest-grossing films. RJ Balaji, who wrote and directed the film co-starring Trisha Krishnan, met a key person responsible for its success. The actor-director and the newly minted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay had an enjoyable meeting. The filmmaker took to social media to document the meetup and thanked Vijay for the meeting and stated that even though he now held a prestigious post, he was the same warm and kind person as before.
RJ Balaji meets Tamil Nadu CM Vijay
On Instagram, RJ Balaji put up two photos from their meeting. His wife, Divya Nagarajan, joined them in the second photo. In his post, the filmmaker claimed, "With the man who started it all for #Karuppu!!! Wow…! Feels unreal to meet him now as the honourable Chief Minister of Tamil nadu!!!"
He proclaimed that
Vijay sir still had the same love, warmth, kindness and calmness as before as he thanked him for everything. Surprisingly, the two had never worked together on a project. Back in 2023, Vijay was the first person who heard the story of Karuppu and had wanted to film right away. RJ Balaji needed more time to shape the screenplay; now Vijay has retired from films after founding his party, TVK. He co-wrote the film with Rathna Kumar, Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, TS Gopi Krishnan and Karan Aravind KumarVijay's last film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, is still awaiting a release after being stuck due to censor issues.
