Things 5 finale will mark a culmination of the 9-year-long franchise. Ahead of the release of its last episode 8, The Rightside Up, things are heating up for Netflix, given how its seasons bring huge viewership to the OTT platform, even pushing the streamer to often crash. With stakes soaring, the show's Executive Producer and director Shawn Levy says the final installment will bring even more twists, and a lot more information about every hanging plotline of the show so far, to give it a perfect closure. This comes as Netflix released the highly anticipated trailer of the final episode on December 30, leaving the fandom anticipating as to what lies ahead.
Shawn Levy promises 'satisfying' finale
Speaking about the last chapter, Shawn Levy told PEOPLE, "You will get an even deeper understanding of Henry Creel and Vecna. You will get outcomes." Calling episode 8, a "masterpiece," Shawn further teased that fans can expect "outcomes that are deeply satisfying, but many of which are completely surprising."The filmmaker added, "It is both informationally satisfying, but most importantly, profoundly emotionally satisfying. I just want to assure all of the people around the world who have walked the long road with us for nearly a decade, this finale is what you've been waiting for."

Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 dropped its first four episodes on November 26, following it with the next 3 episodes in Volume 2 that premiered on Christmas, December 25. The finale episode releases on December 31, 2025 ET (January 1, 2026 in India)
