Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s Dad SA Chandrasekhar Gets Emotional After Son’s Swearing-In Ceremony: Fulfilled My Dream

Thalapathy Vijay has now become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. May 10 is indeed an iconic day of Tamil Nadu politics, as the state has got a new leader after many years. The former actor took an oath as the CM of Tamil Nadu in the presence of politicians, celebrities and others at the swearing-in ceremony in Chennai. After the event, Vijay’s father and veteran actor-director, SA Chandrasekhar, interacted with the media. He got emotional and said that his son, Vijay, has fulfilled his dream. He even recalled the days when his son, Vijay aka C Joseph Vijay, was born in 1974.

Vijay’s Father gets emotional

After the swearing-in ceremony, Thalapathy Vijay’s father interacted with media. He looked extremely proud of his son. When asked about his feelings, SA Chandrasekhar said, “What more can I ask for? My son has fulfilled my dream.” Vijay’s father further added that he had nothing when his son was born in 1974. At that time, SA Chandrasekhar would work in films as a supporting actor. In the same interaction, he even said that when Vijay was born in 1974, he was struggling for food. For the unversed, the Tamil Nadu CM mentioned his father’s struggle in his first speech as the Jana Nayagan of the state.

Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony was also attended by his rumoured girlfriend, Trisha Krishnan, Jana Nayagan producer Venkat K Narayana and others. Vijay’s mother also looked emotional. Sadly, his kids Jason and Divya were not present at the big event after their mother Sangeetha Sornalingam filed a divorce case against the actor.

About Thalapathy Vijay’s victory

Thalapathy Vijay contested the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2026 for the first time. His political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, aka TVK, won maximum seats in the polls. Due to the majority, Vijay’s TVK formed a government in Tamil Nadu. After winning the election, Thalapathy Vijay visited his parents’ house in Chennai. He took their blessings and waved at fans standing outside their house to see him. Trisha Krishnan also visited Vijay’s house after the results were out on May 4. On the professional front, Vijay’s last film as an actor, Jana Nayagan, is yet to be released in theatres. If reports are to be believed, the film might get released in theatres soon after the elections.
