India’s last group stage match is against Oman, a team that India has never met before in international cricket
Having defeated the host, the United Arab
Emirates, and arch-rival PAK, India, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, has secured its place in the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. India’s last group stage match is against Oman, an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) that has never faced India in its cricketing history.
Therefore, in terms of statistics and head-to-head, there is nothing to offer. However, we can examine instances when other junior sides of the two nations have met each other on lesser-followed platforms.
Emerging Teams Asia Cup
India and Oman clashed against each other in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup last year. For the record, the ‘A’ sides of both nations participated in the tournament, which aims to produce talented young cricketers from Asia.

Batting first, Oman posted a decent score against India despite being an associate member. The team played all 20 overs, scoring 140 runs at the loss of only five wickets. Notable scorers from the sides were Naseem Ali (24), Mohammad Nadeem (41), and Hammad Mirza (28).
In response, India chased the target in 15.2 overs but lost four wickets. The team won the game by six wickets with 28 balls remaining.
Asian Cricket Council Under-19's Asia Cup
In 2021, the Indian U-19 team faced Oman U-19 in the Asian Cricket Council Under-19 Asia Cup. In 50 overs, India made 282 runs, thanks to a blistering 120-run innings by Harnoor Singh. Captain Yash Dull also played his part in the middle order, adding 63 runs off 68 balls. Rajvardhan Hangargekar also joined the party to score a quick 48 runs in 23 balls at a strike rate of 208.69.
In response, the Under-19 side of Oman managed only 128 runs, losing the game by 154 runs.

India vs. Oman
India has secured its place in the Super Four stage, while Oman has been eliminated from the tournament after losing its first two games. The third game against India is also out of Oman’s hands unless the team pulls a rabbit out of the hat to upset the defending champions.
For the record, Oman made only 67 runs against PAK, a team that India defeated easily, so for India, the game should be a walk in the park.
