In Sanskrit, the word chakra stands for a disk or a wheel. But when talking in the context
of the human body, these are the energy centers in one's body starting from the head to toe associated with different nerves and organs.
Why need chakra healing?
Chakras connected to different nerves and organs represent their well-being. For the body and mind to work in sync, these chakras need to stay balanced. When blocked one experiences physical or emotional pain. There are main seven important chakras starting at the root of our spine running through it and extend to the head.
Root Chakra
Root Chakra is at the base of the spine and represents foundation, connection, and is linked to money and financial independence. Imbalance triggers feelings of loneliness, insecurities, and depression. So eat root vegetables, proteins like eggs and nuts, red foods like pomegranate, cherries, and tomatoes.
Sacral Chakra
Sacral Chakra just below the navel represents creativity, physical reproduction, and connection to others. An imbalance here results in low or high libido and the inability to express or contain emotions. Eat healthy fats like fish, nuts, coconut, and orange colour foods as it will help balance the chakra. Also, spend time around a water body and perform yoga that opens up the hips.
Solar Plexus Chakra
Solar Plexus Chakra is above the navel and below the rib cage, representing a personal power station and is responsible for willpower and self-esteem. An imbalance here manifests a lack of confidence. To heal eat grains, legumes, spices, and yellow foods like bananas, pineapple, corn and lemons. Also, do hot yoga, walk in the sunshine, bow pose and boat pose.
Heart Chakra
Heart Chakra represents the energy center from where we give love, joy, and compassion. At the same time also feel sorrow, anger, and lust. An imbalance here manifests in uncontrollable emotions like anger, sadness, greediness, or grief. To heal practice deep belly breaths, eat green fruit, veggies, and herbs.
Throat Chakra
Throat Chakra at the base of the throat represents our communication and creative expression. An imbalance here results in indecisiveness, inability to defend self and unwillingness to accept criticism. To heal spend time under a blue sky or eat blue food like blueberries and blackberries.
Third Eye Chakra
Third Eye Chakra is between the eyebrows, representing intuition and inner perception. An imbalance results in unawareness of inner and outer realities, rigid thoughts, and stubborn beliefs. Sitting in the sunlight facing towards the light can help and purple foods like eggplant, and omega-3 rich diet can also be of great help.
Crown Chakra
Crown Chakra is at the top of the head representing access to higher consciousness, bliss and deep wisdom. To heal any meditation is best and eating nourishing food can help.
