For eyeliner, liquid and gel formulas typically have more staying power than traditional kohl pencils. Look for a felt-tip liquid liner that promises 24-hour wear. For your eyebrows, a waterproof tinted brow gel will not only shape and define your brows but also coat the hairs in a water-repellent film, keeping them perfectly in place no matter the weather.
Embrace Cream and Liquid Formulas
Powder products—blush, bronzer, and highlighter—can get streaky or patchy when they come into contact with water or sweat. During humid seasons, it's smarter to switch to cream or liquid alternatives. Cream blushes blend seamlessly into the skin for a natural, dewy flush that is far more resistant to moisture. Applied with your fingers or a dense brush, they melt into your foundation to become one. The same goes for liquid highlighters and cream bronzers. They adhere better to your base and are less likely to disappear by midday. If you absolutely can't part with your powders, apply them sparingly and be sure to use the final, crucial step to lock them in.
Seal the Deal With Setting Spray
If primer is the first step, setting spray is the final, non-negotiable bookend to your weatherproof routine. A quality setting spray acts like a lightweight, invisible hairspray for your face. It creates a protective layer over your entire look, locking everything in place and preventing it from melting, fading, or transferring. For maximum staying power in humid or rainy conditions, choose a spray specifically marketed as “waterproof,” “long-lasting,” or “ultra-matte.” To apply, hold the bottle about eight inches from your face and mist in an “X” and “T” formation to ensure even coverage.
