The Raja Saab box office report: Prabhas film earns ₹63.3 crore on Day 1

Prabhas’s latest release, The Raja Saab, opened in cinemas on Thursday and posted a strong first-day box office figure. Early estimates place the film’s total opening at ₹63.3 crore, including paid previews.


The number combines roughly ₹54.15 crore net from Indian theatres and about ₹9.15 crore from paid previews held a day earlier, according to Sacnilk.

It is one of the bigger opening days this year for a Telugu release. The scale of the opening reflects both Prabhas’s pull and the advance interest built around the film.

The Raja Saab box office Day 1 numbers

The strongest response came from the Telugu states. Overall occupancy on day one was around 57%, according to early tracking.

Morning shows opened at just over 50%. Afternoon remained similar. The jump came later - evening shows crossed 57%, and night shows climbed close to 69%. The pattern suggested growing footfall as the day went on - bringing in ₹47.4 crores.

The Hindi version opened softer. Overall occupancy was about 15.6%, with morning shows below 10% before improving later in the day.

The Tamil version sat in between, with roughly 22.6% occupancy, also showing a gradual rise in later shows.

Paid previews and early momentum

Paid previews contributed meaningfully to the opening. The ₹ 9.15 crore collected before the official release lifted the total and gave the film a head start going into Friday.

This strategy has become common for large releases, especially when advance interest is high.
