What is the story about?
Kannada superstar Yash celebrated his 40th birthday on January 8 by releasing the first clip for his much-awaited movie Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The teaser introduces his character Raya, a dark and fierce antagonist whose entrance has already gone viral on social media.
Early on Thursday morning, the short yet eye-catching teaser was released, offering the first official look at Yash's new persona. The high-impact video shows Raya in the midst of mayhem, including shooting, explosions, and a threatening presence that highlights the character's unrestrained brutality.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the teaser, unveiling Yash’s character, Raya. “'Toxic' Unleashes Yash's Character Raya on His Birthday... Team #Toxic marks #Yash's birthday with a power-packed reveal, introducing him in the role of #Raya,” he wrote.
“After delivering the record-smashing blockbuster #KGF2, #Yash returns to the big screen with #Toxic, slated for release on [Thursday] 19 March 2026, perfectly timed for the festive weekend of #Ugadi, #GudiPadwa, and #Eid,” Adarsh added.
Watch the teaser here:
In the teaser, a man—likely a criminal ganglord—gathers with his troops in a cemetery to bury his child. The entrance of a car, however, quickly interrupts the peaceful ceremony. Yash's character, Raya, blasts off the cemetery, gets out of the car, and shoots the survivors.

Yash enters as Raya, who is seen with a Thompson machine gun and a cigar. Dressed in all-black, a glimpse of him shooting and slashing foes in an exaggerated manner can be seen as the teaser ends with him declaring, “Daddy's home.”
Compared to other well-known heroic personas, Raya is shown as a tough, ruthless character, which positions the movie as a gritty gangster drama as opposed to a traditional mainstream entertainment.
