What is the story about?
A Bollywood-style musical comedy filmed entirely in India is set to hit theatres across Russia on April 1. Titled Persimmon of My Love, the Russian-Indian joint production marks a major milestone as the first major collaboration since the Soviet era.
It is also the first large-scale Russian feature to be shot entirely on Indian soil. Directed by Marius Weisberg, known for popular Russian films, the project highlights a seamless blend of creative traditions from both countries.

More than 350 crew members worked on the project daily, with some scenes involving up to 1,000 extras, reflecting the scale and spectacle typically associated with classic Bollywood.
The story revolves around two brothers separated in childhood—Ramash, an upright police officer, and Shamar, a charismatic criminal.

Their lives collide in a dramatic narrative filled with action, romance, and family secrets, set against the colourful backdrop of a fictional Indian city called Khurmada.
Popular Russian comedians Demis Karibidis and Mikhail Galustyan play the lead roles, with Karibidis also contributing as the screenwriter.
Joining them is Adila Ragimova, who is making her debut as the female lead. The film also stars Albina Kabalina, Artur Vakha, and Sergey Rost in key roles.
Filming took place across iconic Indian locations, including Mumbai’s film studios and the historic cities of Udaipur and Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
The film’s music, composed by Zurab Matua, features songs in Hindi, while Indian choreographer Jay Kumar designed energetic dance sequences inspired by Bollywood.
