Drishyam 3, starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, continued its impressive box office run on Day 4, Sunday, May 24. The crime thriller crossed the ₹140 crore mark worldwide within just four days of release. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film hit theatres on May 21 and has maintained its momentum in both domestic and international markets.
On Day 4, Drishyam 3 recorded a slight increase in collections compared to Day 3 (Saturday, May 23). It earned a total of ₹13.95 crore net across 5,270 shows across the country and had an overall occupancy of 51.8%. The film witnessed a 1.8% growth over its Day 3 earnings of ₹13.70 crore net.
Thus, in its first weekend, the film collected ₹27.65 crore. With this, Mohanlal’s film’s total India net collection has reached ₹54.55 crore, while the India gross collection stands at ₹63.34 crore.
The overseas market has emerged as a major strength for the crime thriller. Drishyam 3collected another ₹13 crore overseas on Sunday. This took its worldwide collection to ₹78 crore. Currently, the film has amassed a staggering ₹141.34 crore across domestic and worldwide collections.
The Malayalam version continues to lead the box office performance of the film. On Day 4, it collected ₹11.75 crore from 3,186 shows and registered an overall occupancy of 69%. The Telugu version added ₹1.20 crore with an overall occupancy of 20%, while the Tamil version contributed ₹65 lakh with an overall occupancy of 38%. The Kannada version earned ₹35 lakh and had an overall occupancy of 29%.
