Dhurandhar, the latest spy action thriller headlined by Ranveer Singh, is making waves at the box office and on social media. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, premiered on December 5 and has been drawing strong word-of-mouth praise, particularly for Akshaye Khanna's electrifying entry sequence.
Akshaye's dramatic entrance to the Flipperachi’s chartbuster Fa9la track has grabbed everyone's attention, with viewers and critics praising his standout portrayal of Rehman Dakait, a vile Pakistani crime lord and politician.
The sequence showcases his effortless swagger and charisma as he steps out of his car, greets the crowd with a 'salam', and even obliges to a dance before settling into his seat. In the scene, Khanna is seen in a crisp black suit, paired with aviators.
The film's soundtrack, featuring FA9LA, has become a sensation on social media, with fans recreating Akshaye's iconic dance moves and sharing their own versions of the song. Rooted in the signature Khaleeji style, the viral track was written and performed by Flipperachi and Daffy, with music by DJ Outlaw.
Heaping praise on Akshaye Khanna, an X user wrote, “Akshaye Khanna absolutely crushed it his performance as 'Rahman Dakait' deserves every major Indian award and honestly an Oscar too. This is the year’s most explosive music and dance.”

“#AkshayeKhanna How on earth are you aging backwards, sharpening your features instead of softening them? Akshay, you insane, precision-crafted monster of talent, how are you this god-level? It’s illegal at this point. He’s grown into a kind of dangerous handsomeness, the kind that turns heads and steals breath without even trying. #Dhurandhar,” another post read.

“These days 99% scrap movies, just 1% quality cinema. #Dhurandhar falls straight into that 1% pure filmmaking. A must-watch, Brilliant performances, killer music & screen-owning acts from #AkshayeKhanna & #RanveerSingh," pointed out a user.
Social media users are also comparing Khanna's viral dance moves to his late father, the legendary actor Vinod Khanna. Users unearthed a throwback video from a 1989 charity concert in Lahore, Pakistan, which shows Vinod Khanna dancing with actress Rekha and former Pakistani cricket captain Imran Khan.
Sharing the clip on X, a user wrote, "NVM I got it, Akshaye Khanna has copied his father in Dhurandhar."

In an interview with Filmygyan, Khanna's co-star, Danish Pandor, revealed that the viral dance steps were not choreographed but improvised by the actor during the shoot. "We shot this in Leh Ladakh, and Vijay Ganguly was choreographing the whole song. We all heard the track and were stunned by how amazing it was. So, Aditya Sir was explaining the shot to Akshaye Sir. The whole choreography was happening, and in the middle of that, Akshaye Sir asked Aditya, 'Can I dance?' Aditya Sir said, 'Do whatever you like’,” he said.
"Then there's a take, and we all enter, and he looks at everyone dancing, and he starts dancing on his own. There's no choreography for him. Everyone was stunned, like kya kar diya yeh inhone (what has he done). People started applauding so much after the shot, the frames were looking so good. He did it all on his own. He is terrific," Danish added.
Offering a glimpse behind the scenes, choreographer Vijay Ganguly revealed that the actor needed an oxygen cylinder during the shoot.
In a conversation with Mid-Day, he revealed, "Akshaye would carry a small oxygen cylinder with him. When we were shooting this song, his oxygen level had dropped. So, after every shot, he would put the oxygen mask on. He did the sequence unflinchingly, and then went home".
Dhurandhar boasts a star-studded cast, including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
