What is the story about?
The official teaser for director Nitesh Tiwari's mythological epic Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, has officially debuted at an IMAX screening in Los Angeles. As images and videos from the grand premiere surfaced online, with attendees sharing their initial thoughts, fans can't wait for the official opening, scheduled for April 2, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
The film, produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, also features Yash, Sunny Deol, and Sai Pallavi. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially approved the teaser ‘Rama’ with a ‘U’ (Universal) rating. It is appropriate for audiences of all ages and lasts for 2 minutes and 38 seconds.
The teaser is scheduled to debut simultaneously in several worldwide locations, and the producers have positioned the April 2 unveiling as a "global fan celebration," rather than merely a commercial drop.

On Instagram, a fan posted what may be considered the first critique of Ramayana's promotional content.
“Thanks to @anitachatterbox, I had the honour of watching a preview of the trailer for Ramayana - releasing April 2, 2026 - in Burbank, and I'm still feeling it. What Namit Malhotra is creating, with Nitesh Tiwari bringing this epic to life, is nothing short of breathtaking. The scale, the vision, the energy... all of it felt powerful,” the user wrote.
Another called the Ramayana screening ‘unreal’, stating: “Los Angeles screening response for #Ramayana tease is being called unreal. Audience reportedly went silent at the scale, music, and #Ranbir’s Rama entry on the boat - pure goosebumps moment. Tomorrow’s reveal suddenly feels like an event, not just a launch.”
“International buzz is very high. Foreign media gets an exclusive first look at RAMAYANA in Los Angeles. The world is officially waiting for Nitesh Tiwari’s epic,” one remarked.
The screening was hosted by Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari, who flew to the US ahead of the significant promotional milestone.
