What is the story about?
Actor Mithun Chakraborty and his son Namashi Chakraborty have announced two web series, titled MessTerpiece and Stories of Fear. The projects will be made under the banner of MYRND Movies.
While one show leans toward romance and everyday life, the other moves into darker territory.
MessTerpiece: Mumbai-set romantic comedy
MessTerpiece is described as a slice-of-life romantic comedy set in Mumbai. The show stars Namashi alongside Resham Shahani. Direction will be handled by Namashi and Shrikant Watts. Filming is scheduled to begin in June 2026.
No details about the plot have been released yet.
Stories of Fear: Anthology format
The second project, Stories of Fear, is structured as a 10-part anthology. Each episode will explore themes linked to fear, fright, and phobias. This project will be directed by Sachin Karande, with writing credits going to Shweta Bothra and Swapnil Raje. Cameras are set to roll from July 2026.
The format suggests standalone narratives rather than a continuous storyline.
Who is Namashi Chakraborty
Born in Mumbai in 1992, Namashi is the youngest son of Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali. He trained at Shiamak Davar’s performing arts institute and the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute before making his debut in the film Bad Boy, which was released in 2023. His siblings Mahaakshay and Ushmey are also associated with the industry.
A year later, Namashi made his directorial debut with an experimental romantic drama under the same banner. The film, released in February 2025 and featured his siblings - Mahaakshay and Dishani Chakraborty - among the cast. Kaushik Dasgupta, Vishnu Warrier, Shrikant Watts, Raahul Kanodia, and Samrat Rattan, were also part of the project.
For now, the immediate focus remains the two-web series. Dates for both the projects have been locked, teams are in place and production will begin soon.
